BCA Staff Details

An Oregon native, Karen graduated from Oregon State with a degree in Computer Science and then headed south to the Silicon Valley to work as a Software Engineer. While she enjoyed developing software, she decided she loved education more. Karen went back to school to earn Teaching Credentials in Math, Science, and Computer Science from California State University - East Bay.

After teaching all levels of math in a variety of settings in both California and Oregon, Karen joined Bridge Charter Academy as the High School Math Teacher and the Dual Credit Coordinator. She feels fortunate to spend her days helping students see the beauty of mathematics and encouraging them as they get a head start on their college education.

Karen loves living in Central Oregon with her family nearby. Hiking, kayaking, reading, and high-desert gardening all challenges she enjoys during her time off. Every day is another opportunity to learn something new!
